About
In 2010 I returned to Australia after 34 years in the USA. Having lived for three decades in lower Manhattan, New York, I moved with my partner Kate Veitch to a house on a ridge above Coorabell Creek, 15km inland from Byron Bay 780km up the Pacific coast from Sydney.
On this website I share my reactions to Australia after so many years of immersion in the USA, and my thoughts on the state of America as I see it now, from Coorabell Ridge.
And I’m compiling a series of resources — in words and images — from my adventures in publishing magazines on both continents, from the iconic Monash University student newspaper of the mid-1960s through Australia’s first rock n roll paper, GoSet, to the environmental newsletter News on Earth which I wrote from my home on the lower east side in the 1990s, and the progressive populist newsletter I produced with author Jim Hightower from 1999 to 2013.
I have just begun. More to come!
